width=I know, the summer took its luggage and without taking our wishes into account she left, taking away the relaxing days of vacation. Well… but this is not a reason to be upset and the rich and coppery autumn can offer us unforgettable days.

Romania, a country rich in beauty, offers us in any season and on any occasion moments and places that with a little initiative we can make the most of, taking full advantage of them.

One such place, where you can spend a romantic weekend, is the Peștera Muierilor. Loaded with beauty but also with history, this place is a tourist attraction approved especially by tourists from abroad.
width=Located in a fairytale landscape, in Baia de Fier, Gorj County, on the territory of the Getic Depression of Oltenia, Peștera Muierilor will introduce you to a world full of mystery, incremented in time.

Mentioned for the first time in a document by the great Alexandru Odobescu in 1870, the Peștera Muierilor represented a real fortress that sheltered people and goods throughout the most turbulent times.

The legend says that the name of the cave comes from the fact that during the time when the men were defending their country from the sailors coming from all over, the women took children and the elderly and took shelter in this cave known only to them. width=From the moment that Peștera Muierilor was mentioned in the document of Al. Odobescu, it followed years of speleological study that revealed a series of valuable discoveries.

The cave has a length of over 3500 m and has several entrances, the most famous and used being the one that offers you a panoramic view of the Southern Plain and another that opens to the dense forest of Părâng.

Entering the cave, we will notice the overlapping galleries that divide it into two floors, one upper and one lower. The most important and spectacular galleries are the main gallery, also called the Electrified Gallery, in which there are different pools, known as the Small Pools and the Large Pools that can be filled with water, then we will reach the Turk’s Hall where we will be able to observe huge stalagmites, domes, concretions that, due to their shapes, received names such as the Turk, the Turk’s Wife or Santa Claus. Another impressive room is the Altar Hall, where the Altar Gate will surely take your breath away.
width=Due to its unparalleled beauty, its originality and uniqueness, as well as the speleological richness it possesses, Peștera Muierilor has been a Speleological Reserve and Natural Reserve Monument since 1955, titles it fully deserves.

Hotel Alpin encourages you to visit Peștera Muierilor, giving you the opportunity to live an unforgettable experience and to add to your memories a dream place to return to whenever you have the opportunity.
