For the first day you arrive in Poiana, we recommend a morning bike ride to relax after the road trip and enjoy the fresh and cool air. The equipment doesn’t have to be a headache. Discover history on a trip to the Râșnov Fortress
On the morning of the last day of weekend, you can go to Râșnov Citadel, open daily between 09:00 and 17:00, which is only 8 km away from Poiana Brașov and it’s easily accessible by public transport or by car. What makes this place unique is the fact that it is among the best-preserved fortified complexes in Transylvania, combining cultural activities with fun. In addition to visiting the citadel itself, we recommend a ride on the Swiss elevator that connects the citadel to Râșnov, offering a marvelous view of the city. If you are still in the area, we suggest another activity that will surely delight the little ones, but may be also attractive for the adults: the Dinosaur Park, located nearby Râșnov Citadel. The park has a generous area of 3.5 hectares, being a recreation area and an open-air museum.
Picnic and pictures in nature
After a trip to Râșnov, you are probably hungry and want to rest a bit before returning home. In this case, a picnic is the ideal solution.
