The Bucket list or Neapolitans with Caramel and Nuts

If there is anyone who has not seen the movie “The Bucket List“, we suggest you do so.

Today is Sunday, a day to relax after a crazy and busy week, and watching this movie is an excellent choice to relax.

Hmmm…. I think that each of us has a Bucket List, things that we propose to do, that give meaning to our existence. Let’s not fall into the banal, into the great mass of insignificant people.

An old-old saying goes like this: Have a child, plant a tree, build a house!

These are just some of the goals we should all have.

But since happiness comes from simple and often good things, good to eat, today we will show you a recipe for a dessert that can be made in a maximum of 20 minutes.

You need the following ingredients:

  • 3 sheets of wafers (you can find them in stores and they are also very cheap)
  • 3 eggs
  • 250 gr margarine
  • 2 cups of walnuts chopped with a knife, as big or as small as you prefer
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 sachets of vanilla sugar
  • 2 dishes, preferably cast iron (sugar does not stick)

You will work on 2 burners.

Put the following on the fire in a bowl: margarine (which must be at room temperature; this way it will melt easier, better, faster), beaten eggs and 1 cup of sugar. Mix well. Leave them on medium heat.  width=

At the same time, in the other bowl, melt the number 2 cup of sugar together with the vanilla sugar sachets. You have to stir continuously to avoid the formation of sugar lumps. But if they still form, leave the sugar on the fire until the lumps melt.

You will leave the other pot on the fire until you notice that it starts to boil. From that moment, you leave the app. 30 – 40 seconds. All this time mixing continuously.  width=When it’s ready, pour it over the caramelized sugar. Add the nuts. Mix and pour the hot mixture over the wafer sheet. Either put a thin layer so that the composition is enough for 2 layers, or pour it all over. But we suggest you to do it with 2 layers.

When you add the mixture over the caramelized sugar, it will start to boil. It will look like a volcano. Don’t be scared! That’s exactly how it should be! But, be careful as it burns very bad!

After placing the last sheet of wafer, press them gently with your palms and let it cool.

That’s it!

20 minutes after the clock! It takes longer to wash the dishes!
