Romania, Brasov… Transylvania’s heart treasure



Heart of the country…. This is Brasov!
Located for some 800 years in Barsei County at the base of Tampa and watched by Postavarul, Brasov is located in the navel of Romania.
Wherever you want to get in Brasov does not take you long. You have to see Brasov at least once. When you say Brasov you think at Biserica Neagra, Tampa, Poiana Brasov … and of course Sforii street.

Did you know that Brasov is the only city in the world which includes in its administrative territory a mountain peak (peak Postavaru) and two nature reserves: Mount Tampa and the botanical nature reserve type Stejerisul Mare.

Brasov is a mountain town; lively and cheerful always full of noisy tourists…. There is always something happening in both the city and its surrounds. People are cause for celebration throughout the year: Rasnov Days, Days of Brasov, Narcissus Festival, etc…
And maybe you happened to go a few times in Brasov and you say … It’s done! I know this city; I saw what could be seen…. And the next streets intersection to see something new…. Architecture’s city is fascinating, people have managed to keep untouched beauty of old buildings, which are still felt like the scent of another time … this time running different, slower, softer …

For those who have not yet had the chance to visit Brasov, we help them now to discover some of the beauty of this place:

• Tampa is the place where Brasov’s habitants chose to place their city …. From the top of Tampa, sees the street’s labyrinth, sharp point of Biserica Neagra and undefined geometric form outlining Piata  Sfatului.
• Street Sforii is definitely one of the main attractions of Brasov being very narrow, but not the only street that gives the feeling of intimacy and mystery. No wider than 112 cm is one of the attractions of the city, although at first it was just a corridor used by firefighters when needed.

• Piata Sfatului – promenade place for both tourists and Brasov habitants. Here takes place various activities and cultural events. Guarded by the clock tower, gives a special charm to this touristic area of the city. Once there were fairs held at participating artisans and merchants of the three Tari Române. Nowaways Casa Sfatului holds the History Museum.

• Biserica Neagra, formerly Sfanta Maria, has acquired this name because in the seventeenth century was burned and partially destroyed. Just below it, Casa Sfatului has its own story and both deserve a place of honor on the map travelers

• Scheii Brasov – A walk through Scheii Brasov, the oldest part of the city, equivalent to a journey into the past. Titulescu’s tomb in the churchyard of St. Nicolae and the First Romanian School Museum are just a few reasons to visit this part of Brasov.

• Near the center you can admire Gate Catherine (Catherine) is the best-preserved gateway to the city and the tower built in 1559 (sky tower is painted in Renaissance style and its architecture is unique in the world, making it a precious gem art)

• Area „Dup Ziduri” is part of the belt medieval fortified city. Brasov fortress is a fortified building originally built of wood and stone and was modernized in the eighteenth-century cannon to withstand attacks.

• Poiana Brasov is the most famous winter sports resort in Romania, an important international tourist center, and also a city district of Brasov. It has 12 ski runs, with varying degrees of difficulty (one olympic track, three tracks for downhill and giant slalom, slalom track for a particular two jumps, etc..), Sports (tennis, miniature golf, handball, basketball ), a lake, a funicular, a lift, a ski lift, etc..

• Bran Castle – located 30 km from Brasov, between the Bucegi and Piatra Craiului, is an important national monument and landmark of tourism in Romania, due to both its beauty, landscape, and the legend of Count Dracula, whose spirit haunt these ancient places.

Why visit Brasov?

Because it is one of the most beautiful and largest cities of Romania surrounded by impressive mountains and forests; culture and architecture of the houses, for its mountain resorts, luxury and comfort offered by many hotels and hostels, elegant terraces and life night, for Romanian traditions in the area.
