Pavlova cake

 width=We are already in the second half of December and we have only a little over a week until Christmas. The snow already covers much of the country, the cities have Christmas fairs and the housewives already negotiate with their family the holiday menu. Before you decide on dessert, take your time to try a simple recipe, great for dessert: Pavlova cake.

Pavlova is a meringue-based dessert with a crispy crust and soft, easy interior. It is believed to have been created in honor of ballerina Anna Pavlova, either during or after one between its tours in Australia and New Zealand in 1926. The form of the cake reminds us of the outfit of a ballerina.

The nationality of the desert’s creator was the subject of much debate between the two nations, but formal research indicates New Zealand as the country of origin. Regardless of where the cake comes from and who created it, Pavlova remains a wonderful sweet that will make sensation on any housewives table. width=

We will present you the traditional recipe – Pavlova with strawberries, kiwi and passion fruit. For 6 servings you will need the following:

6 egg whites

350 grams of sugar

600-ml. cream

600 grams of strawberries

200 grams of kiwi

200 grams of passion fruit


Oil or butter for greasing the pan


Beat the egg whites with salt until they hold well on. Add gradually sugar, beating vigorously until the foam remains firm.

Coat a baking sheet with baking paper or butter oil. With a spoon put piles of whites composition on the greased paper, so to get a sheet round with diameter of 25 cm. On the sheet is added a row of egg white foam, like a ring taller.

The whites counter top bake in pre-heated oven to very low heat, 60-75 minutes. If the fire is too hot, the countertop turns yellow.

When dough has yellowed everywhere, stops fire and let the cake cool completely in the oven.

Meanwhile, prepare the fruits. Wash, peel and cut them into cubes or slices. Keep the fruit mix in the fridge. Fill the Pavlova with fruit just before serving. The cream is first spread on the whites countertop. Over this put the fruits, in the middle, in the ring cavity formed by  whites.
